What you need
- A pack with a Seplos BMS (V2, V3 or a Mason kit), switched on.
- A free RS485 socket on the BMS. Many Seplos boards have two: one often goes to the inverter or to the next pack, the other is free.
- A USB charger near the pack and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi coverage.
1. Pick the right socket
On the Seplos front panel, the RJ45 sockets are marked RS485 and CAN. Use an RS485 socket. Keep the CAN link to your inverter exactly as it is. If both RS485 sockets are used for paralleling packs, plug the box into the free end of the chain or contact us with a photo: we will tell you where it goes.
2. Check the address
Seplos packs have address DIP switches. A single pack is usually at address 0 or 1; paralleled packs each have their own address. Write down the addresses: you will enter them in the box settings so it knows which packs to read.
3. Connect and power
Run the supplied cable from the RS485 socket to the box, then plug the box into USB power. The screen comes on and shows that it is waiting for Wi-Fi.
Only plug the box into communication sockets. Never connect it to the pack terminals or to the balance leads.
4. Wi-Fi and password
Join the box’s own Wi-Fi network from your phone; the setup page opens automatically. Choose your home network, enter its password, then set the password that protects your dashboard.
5. Open the dashboard
Go to http://moniwatt.local or the IP shown on the screen. Enter the pack addresses if you have more than one. The cells appear within a few seconds.
Troubleshooting
- No data: the cable may be in the CAN socket, or the address may not match the DIP switches.
- Data from one pack only: add the other addresses in the settings.
- Garbled values: another device may be polling the same RS485 line at the same moment; tell us what else is connected.
